How to choose a data analyst in Port Harcourt (without getting burned)
GOSPELTRADER Research Desk · 18 June 2026 · 6 min read
A practical checklist for institutions and businesses in Rivers State evaluating data analysis and statistical consulting support.
Most disappointing analytics engagements fail long before any statistics are run. They fail at scoping — when nobody wrote down what question the analysis answers, what data exists, and what an acceptable answer looks like.
If you are commissioning data analysis in Port Harcourt or anywhere in Rivers State, the following checks separate a documented professional service from a spreadsheet favour.
1. Ask for the methodology before the price
A credible analyst will describe the sampling approach, the tests they expect to use, and the assumptions those tests require. If the first response is a figure with no method attached, the price is meaningless because the deliverable is undefined.
2. Insist on reproducibility
You should receive the cleaned dataset, the analysis script or SPSS syntax, and a codebook. If the work cannot be re-run by a third party, it cannot be defended in a review, an audit or a board meeting.
3. Separate analysis from interpretation
Numbers are not decisions. A useful report states what the data shows, what it does not show, and where uncertainty remains. Be wary of anyone who never reports a limitation.
4. Check turnaround honesty
Fast is achievable when data arrives clean and objectives are fixed. Our standard analytical turnaround is 72 hours to five working days — but we say so only after seeing the data, never before.
- • Written scope with acceptance criteria
- • Named delivery lead you can contact

What we do differently
Every GOSPELTRADER INC. analysis is scoped in writing, delivered with reproducible artefacts, and summarised in language a non-statistician can act on. That is the entire standard.
